Real-Life Action Research Examples

This week was very good.  I learned a lot from the videos of district leaders discussing action research projects they have conducted.  What was common amongst the three was that data drives a lot of their research projects.  This is true, but I always caution the human element is necessary to get the whole picture.

I began reading the actual dissertations provided for each of these individuals.  I intent to finish them out.  There is a lot there, but it would only benefit me.

The Dana text was also useful.  There were 9 topics where action research could be conducted.  All were very explicit on what could be useful in researching. Again, many of them use data as a significant part of the research.

After meeting again with my Site Supervisor, I had additional knowledge from the readings and such this week to truly formulate a coherent topic for action research.  I outlined it and made a formal proposal using some of the guidelines.  It made an impact on her, and she was able to make an informed decision on which one to go with.
